First day building an adobe fuel-saving stove! This was for the BusyBeePrimary School, a very small village school where our Ugandan friend Freddy's kids attend. There were so many of us volunteers, not really knowing what we were doing, that I felt kind of un-useful. But now we know how to build one and we can do smaller groups. We got very muddy and enjoyed it. I'll post a picture later.
Every year, HELP International volunteers are trained, prepared and sent out to live in a foreign country where they learn about local responses to poverty and help support locally run organizations and initiatives. It's a philosophy based on self-determination, development and empowerment that training a new generation to live in world void of poverty.
